“A fresh schedule has been received. We have forwarded this new schedule to the respective state governments seeking their views,” said a senior home ministry official.

It is still not clear how the third revised schedule fits security concerns raised by the ministry but according to sources some dates have been adjusted and a few extra playing venues have been added to the itinerary.

A day earlier home ministry officials bluntly told IPL organisers that it would not be able to spare central forces for the Twenty20 tournament and expressed its concerns and limitations for the cricketing extravaganza because of the Lok Sabha elections in April-May.

During the 90-minute meeting, the delegation, led by BCCI Secretary N. Srinivasan, was asked to work out a new schedule in consultation with the states where the IPL matches are to be played.
