Legislator cycles to protest poor highways

Bhopal: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Girish Gautam Monday cycled to the Madhya Pradesh assembly here in protest against the poor quality highways in Madhya Pradesh.

“The conditions of national highways are so pathetic that there is no way to travel but ride a cycle,” Gautam told reporters after reaching the house. Gutam belongs to Rewa.

BJP leaders are blaming the central government for the state of highways in the state. The central road transport and highways minister is Kamal Nath, who is from Madhya Pradesh.

There are 14 national highways in the state with a total length of 3,714 km.
