“I won’t like to comment on the honourable prime minister’s speech as that is his point of view and maybe we won’t agree to it,” he said.

The prime minister obliquely appealed to Gandhian Anna Hazare, who will fast from Tuesday in support of a strong Lokpal, not to go on hunger strike.

Addressing the nation on Independence Day, Manmohan Singh Singh said that those who don’t agree with some aspects of a proposed Lokpal legislation “should not resort to hunger strikes”.

But he did not mention Hazare by name.

Kejriwal, a close confidante of Hazare, said the Gandhian was going ahead with the fast at Jaipraskash Narayan Memorial park near ITO from Tuesday.
