Beijing : Sixteen people have been killed and 31 injured in two road accidents in China.
A passenger bus and a truck collided on an expressway in Wucheng, northern Shanxi province Saturday, killing seven people and injuring 29, the Shanxi Expressway Administration Bureau said.
The bureau said the accident was reported at 12:40 p.m. and an investigation into the cause of the accident was under way.
In the other accident, a container truck collided with another truck filled with construction workers Friday evening on a road in Pingdu city, eastern Shandong province.
Nine people were killed and two injured in that accident, Shandong’s work safety authorities said.
The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital.
