New Delhi : Most of the northern cities, which enjoyed a cool and comfortable weather in the last few days, thanks to the unseasonal rain, witnessed a rise in maximum temperature Tuesday. However, the temperatures were still under the normal level of the season, signalling that the scorching days of summer are still away.
The national capital, which recorded around 28 degrees Celsius Monday, found the maximum temperature crossing 30 degrees Celsius to reach 31.4 degrees C. However, this was a good four degrees Celsius below the normal for his time of the year.
The minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 19 degrees Celsius.
Though dry weather prevailed in most of the northern cities, the Met Office said a fresh western disturbance was likely to cause scattered showers over western Himalayan region in the coming days.
Southern cities like Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram received rainfalls. According to the weatherman, scattered rain would continue in the southern states for three-four days.
