Kuwait : Women have strong chances of occupying seats in the National Assembly as a result of the upcoming parliamentary elections, according to a prominent pollster.
Salah Al-Jassem, the general director of Salam Al-Jassem corporate for electronics, indicate that one woman candidate running in the third constituency has a high chance of winning the polls, but he did not reveal her name.
Al-Jassem, a prominent polling expert, said his anticipation is based on certain factors and considerations, adding that he also forecast 30 nominees would become members of the parliament.
The expert that staff of his polling department holds polls in each constituency to determine the general favoring trend noting that the samples include figures from all the social segments and trends.
He affirmed that forcast of the polls he had conducted for the 2003 and 2006 were “largely accurate in terms of the results,” and that the outcome of the polls were inaccurate in only two constituencies in the 1999 elections.
Al-Jassem indicated that “surprises” might materialize in the upcoming polls due to the change of the constituent regime and hike of the number of the voters.
