New Delhi : Speaker Somnath Chatterjee expects MPs to be brief and precise while raising issues of public importance in the house.
Very few members, however, exhibit the quality – something that the Left veteran does not seem to like, as was amply evident Monday. “Be brief and do not give lectures,” the speaker sternly said when some members took to giving long-winded speeches while raising important issues after the Question Hour.

Vijay Jolly in Lok Sabha?
Vijay Jolly, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator from Saket in south Delhi was Monday seen sitting in the gallery meant for very important people. Jolly is very vociferous in the assembly, and the grapevine has it that he is is aspiring to enter the lower house from south Delhi parliamentary constituency, currently represented by BJP veteran V.K. Malhotra.
Asked if it was true, a BJP leader quipped: “There is no harm in aspiring for the moon.”

Jhola of Sandeep Dikshit
Sandeep Dikshit, member of the Lok Sabha from East Delhi and son of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, is the most regular among the young Congress MPs in attending the house, but with a difference. While others like Sachin Pilot and Milind Deora do not carry anything to the house, Dikshit loves to carry his trademark jhola, (cloth shoulder bag). His friends say he picked up the good habit during his days in Madhya Pradesh, where he ran a
voluntary organisation.
