Gaza : Hamas has said that a delegation of the movement will be heading to Egypt Tuesday to meet with officials there.
Hamas said Monday that the visit would focus on the truce with Israel, the national dialogue file with Fatah, and the Rafah crossing linking the Gaza Strip and Egypt.
Local media in Gaza spoke with Hamas official Fawzi Barhom who said that the movement was looking forward to settle the problems over at the Rafah crossing, indicating that the issue should have been solved since the truce was agreed to with Israel on June 19.
He affirmed that Hamas was willing to accept any mechanism to operate the Rafah crossing as long as the step would benefit the Palestinian people and would not let Israel take control of the crossing.
Barhom accused Israel of meddling with the truce and maintained that Hamas and other Palestinian factions were abiding by the truce.
The crossing has not been operated in the way it was supposed to under the truce agreement, said Barhom who called on the Egyptian side to make sure that all aspects of the truce were implemented.
On national dialogue, the spokesman affirmed that Hamas was ready for it under Arab support and sponsorship, adding that Hamas has contacted several Arab states for such purpose.
