Ramallah : Hamas on Tuesday said security forces continued crackdown against its supporters in West Bank, arresting 15 of them.
The arrests were conducted in Nablus, Jenin, Ramallah and Hebron by forces loyal to president Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah, Hamas said in a statement faxed to media.
The West Bank security services started to arrest Hamas-affiliated people last year after the Islamic movement ousted Fatah and took over Gaza Strip, according to Hamas
The tension between two rival groups escalated last month after a deadly beachside blast in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. Hamas accused Fatah of being behind the incident which killed a girl and five Hamas men.
Following the blast, Hamas arrested hundreds of Fatah people and leaders in Gaza and shut down dozens of charities and civil organization linked to Fatah.
