Bangladesh: President for increasing trade relations with DPRK

Dhaka, Bangladesh : Outgoing Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to Bangladesh Mun Song Mo paid a farewell call to President Professor Dr Iajuddin Ahmed at Bangabhaban.

During the meeting on Wednesday, the President expressed satisfaction at the existing excellent bilateral ties between the two countries and hoped that the relations would be strengthened further in the days to come.

President Iajuddin said there are considerable potentials in increasing trade relations between the two countries. “DPRK can import our world-class pharmaceutical, leather, ceramic, jute and readymade garments product at a very competitive price,” he said.

He emphasized the importance of exchanging business delegations to explore new opportunities in the trade and commerce sectors.

Referring to the country’s national election, scheduled to be held in December next, the President invited the DPRK government to send a team of election observers.

Terming the current relations between Bangladesh and DPRK as xcellent, the outgoing ambassador thanked the President for extending all out cooperation to him and praised the hospitality of Bangladeshi people.

Mun Song hoped that Bangladesh would be able to hold free fair and credible national polls in December as per the aspiration of the people of the country.

Secretary of the President’s Office Md Sirajul Islam,Military Secretary to the President Major General Mohammad Ruhul Amin and the President’s Press Secretary Abdul Awal Hawlader were present.
