The press release of the JIH reportedly stated that the five years of LDF government was comparatively better and welfare-oriented than the previous UDF rule. It observed that the government could perform in a comparatively better way with regard to the empowerment of public sector enterprises, extensive welfare schemes and pensions, strengthening of the public distribution system, comparative corruption-free rule and protection of the just needs of minorities.

The JIH would support the UDF in 15 constituencies on the basis of local circumstances, organizational priorities and the opinion of the members in the respective constituencies. The constituencies are Kasargod, Manjeri, Kondotty, Malappuram, Wandoor, Kunnamkulam, Irinjalakkuda, Thrippunithura, Poonjar, Vaikkom, Adoor, Eravipuram, Varkkala, Kazhakkoottam and Aruvikkara.

The decision regarding the election policy was taken considering the opinion of members also, the press release said. The organisation would keep away from voting in the Ernad constituency in Malappuram.

The JIH will support the Left front in Mahe, where election is being held to the Pondicherry state Assembly.
