Trabzon : The Turkish Red Crescent has given vocational training to members of the Pakistani Red Crescent in Surmene town of northern province of Trabzon. The Pakistani team made a field exercise on the last day of the four-day training which aimed at making the Pakistani Red Crescent more prepared for disasters and more capable of taking action in emergency cases.

Within the framework of the scenario, the Pakistani group set up a temporary encampment that can shelter 5,000 people after a disaster, and extended emergency aid to a person who was pulled alive under a rubble.

“The program to increase the capacity of the Pakistani Red Crescent will last for three years and cost 3 million USD,” Ali Ufuk Gunduz, an executive of the Turkish Red Crescent, told A.A correspondent after the field exercise.

Gunduz said the project aims to restructure the Pakistani Red Crescent.

“There will be more field exercises and training in coming days,” he also said.
