The landmine hit a vehicle of security personnel from the paramilitary Frontier Constabulary near the town of Dera Bugti.

The blast also injured another soldier, they said.

Officials said the security forces were on routine patrolling in the area when the mine was exploded planted by unknown men.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack and the police started search for the attackers in the area.

The authorities blame such attacks on the anti-government Baloch nationalists, who are fighting for more political rights and royalty in the natural resources.

Security personnel are regularly targeted in Balochistan, where insurgency has killed many people in recent years.

Security forces cordoned-off the area soon after the incident and started search for the miscreants.
