Iranian President Meets Cuban FM

Teheran : Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sent friendly greetings to his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro and Revolution leader Fidel Castro, expressing gratitude for the solidarity with this country.

After welcoming Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque Tuesday here, the Iranian head of State praised the Revolution’s firmness faced with US aggressions and favorably assessed Cuba’s performance leading the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

Ahmadinejad reiterated the Islamic Republic of Iran ‘s willingness of developing relations with Cuba in several sectors, Perez Roque told Prensa Latina.

Perez Roque’s agenda also included meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Sudan’s Fodel Tijani, Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Cyprus’ Markos Kyprianou, Belarus’ Serguei Martinov, Democratic Korea’s Pak Ui Chun, and Algeria’s Mourad Medelci.

They analyzed issues incumbent on the 118 NAM member states in a friendly and respect atmosphere, and remarked the parties’ will to foster diplomatic links and discuss common positions in important international events.
