“While the security forces were searching the forest, militants hiding there opened fire, resulting in a gunfight at the end of which one militant was killed,” Lt. Col. J.S. Brar told IANS here this morning.
“The militant has been identified as Abdullah Uni of Pakistan and was a district commander of LeT.” Arms and ammunition were recovered from there.
The other militant was killed by police and the army in a forested area of north Kashmir’s Bandipore district Wednesday evening. He was identified as Waseem, a divisional commander of the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed.
