London : The 2010 Winter Olympics has forced the Oscars to be held in March that year, instead of the usual February.
The 82nd Annual Academy Awards will be handed out March 7, to avoid clashing any competition with the skiing and skating at the sports gala, reports contactmusic.com.
Nominations for the awards will be announced Feb 2, 2010, said Academy President Sid Ganis on the offical site of the Oscars.
The academy will come back to its original standard of hosting the annual event in February 2011 onwards.
