Danish Foreign Minister Lene Espersen has reportedly called for a special closed-door session of the parliamentary foreign policy committee this morning amid plans by the cultural editor of the Danish daily Jyllands-Posten, Flemming Rose to republish the insulting anti-Islamic caricatures in a book.

Defending his highly controversial action, Rose had argued that Muslims had also to get used to being ‘ridiculed.’

Rose had given green light to Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard on Septemeber 30, 2005 to draw the blasphemous caricatures.

Meanwhile, diplomats from Muslim countries based in Copenhagen had urged the Danish government to halt the publication of Rose’s book which features the 12 anti-Islamic cartoons.

Rose’s book titled ‘The Tyranny of Silence’ will hit stores on Thursday.
