Air Force employee Jagatjot Singh, 60, was killed when he tried to help his neighbour Kamla Sep 8 in south Delhi’s Neb Sarai.

One of the assailants was spurned by Kamla’s girl.

During the attack, Singh’s wife Prakasho Devi, 55, and Kamla were injured.

All the four accused were arrested Sunday while they were planning to leave Delhi, police said.

Neeraj, 19, Irfan Siddiqui, 22, Vishal, 19, and Sandeep were apprehended while a minor boy was detained in connection with the case. Three other accused were arrested earlier.

“Neeraj loved a girl and last week, she once again refused his proposal,” said Chhaya Sharma, deputy commissioner of police.

“Neeraj along with other accused came to the girl’s house and had an altercation with her and her mother. Neeraj got annoyed and hit Kamla. When Kamla’s neighbour Singh and his wife Prakasho tried to intervene, Neeraj stabbed them and escaped from the spot,” said Sharma.
