New Delhi : At least 43 rebels of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) have been killed in fresh clashes in Sri Lanka’s Northern region.
As many as 12 LTTE rebels were killed in Parikariperiyakulam area of northern Vavuniya yesterday, news agency Press Trust of India reported Thursday quoting Media Centre for National Security (MCNS).
Three LTTE rebels were killed in Kattankulam, one rebel in Nedunkandal and three in Sirikulam, the MCNS said.
As many as three LTTE cadres were killed at Thandikulam in Mannar. In another incident, at least six rebels were killed in Andankulam in Mannar yesterday. Seven more guerrillas were shot dead in Periyapandivirichchan area of Vavuniya. One rebel was also killed in Mullikulam area, the news agency said.
As many as seven LTTE rebels were killed in separate clashes in north-eastern Welioya also yesterday.
