Three killed in Pakistan blasts

Islamabad : Three people, including a senior police officer, were killed and four others were wounded in two explosions in the northern Pakistani province of Frontier (NWFP) on Saturday, while a suspected US spy was beheaded in the bordering tribal region.

A remote controlled roadside bomb explosion in Peshawar, capital of NWFP, killing two policemen and wounding two others, said Imtiaz Shah, the city police chief while talking to newsmen.

He said the Senior House Officer (SHO) of Nasir Bagh area was on routine patrol when his vehicle hit a roadside bomb. He added that two policemen including the SHO died on the spot and two others sustained injuries.

In another remote-controlled bomb blast in Khyber tribal agency, a civilian was killed and two others were wounded.

According to police sources, the vehicle of a local Taliban group hit a roadside remote-controlled bomb that killed one and wounded two others. One of them is said to be in critical condition, sources added.

Also, local Taliban militants killed an Afghan national in North Waziristan tribal agency on the charges of spying for the US forces in Afghanistan.

His deadbody was dumped in the main bazaar of Miramshah, the main town of the agency, said sources.
