Agra : Shiv Sena activists, who argue that the Taj Mahal was built on the site of a Shiva temple, attempted to perform Hindu rituals at the monument here Monday afternoon but the police prevented them from entering it.
The activists were forced to perform their arti and puja ritual at the Taj Corridor overlooking the white marble mausoleum as the police did not allow them to move within the 500-metre security ring around the Taj.

Association of Indian Muslims (AIM), a US based organization of Indian Muslims have requested the government to have CBI look into the causes that lead to recent disturbances on Aligarh Muslim University campus. Kaleem Kawaja, president of AIM said that Indian Muslims are very disturbed on the recent events at AMU campus.

National Commission for Minorities to get teeth
New Delhi: The National Commission for Minorities (NCM) will soon turn into a full-fledged statutory body.
In order to ensure NCM a constitutional status, a bill will be placed in Parliament for discussion during the next session starting from 25th February. According to sources in the Ministry of Minority Affairs and NCM, the bill is being given final shape.
