EU imposes anti-dumping duty on Pakistani bed linen

Brussels : Pakistan's exports to the 27-nation European Union (EU) of cotton-type bed linen are now subject to a definitive anti-dumping duty.

EU foreign ministers took this step at their regular monthly meeting in Brussels earlier this week, reported the Inepnext news agency said.

But Pakistani exporters are likely to shrug off the duty, which ranges from zero percent to 8.5 percent, with a weighted average of 5.8 percent.

Liberhan Commission term extended

By IANS New Delhi : The term of the Liberhan Commission of Inquiry probing the razing of the Babri mosque has been extended by two months, up to Dec 31, it was announced Thursday. Justice M.S. Liberhan, a retired judge, was asked to inquire into the events that led to the Dec 6, 1992 mosque demolition in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. The commission was set up about 10 days after the event.
