Cairo : Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit on Thursday said that Egypt cannot accept more criticism and pressure on the Sudanese government which is showing positive attitude as it accepted the deployment of a hybrid African Union-United Nations troops in Darfur.
    Abul Gheit made the remarks during his talks with visiting China's special representative for Darfur Liu Guijin, noting that Egypt and China have similar views on the issue of the western Sudanese region of Darfur to push for a comprehensive political solution.

Islamabad : Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has denounced the US statement regarding operation on Pakistani soil and termed it as irresponsible.
Addressing a news conference with Britain 's Foreign Secretary David Miliband here Thursday, Kasuri said that Pakistan has joined the war on terror to protect its own interests and not others.
He said elections are due in US but these elections should not be contested on the price of Pakistan.

Haneef's lawyer Peter Russo and his wife's cousin Imran Siddiqui are in the national capital Canberra to discuss and apprise Indian High Commissioner Prabhat Shukla about the case.

New Delhi : Vice President of Nationalist Congress Party's Minority Department Dr Sardar Khan has been nominated as member of Advisory Committee in the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources. (NCES)
Dr Khan said a meeting of the Advisory Committee will be held on July 22 to discuss promotion of non-conventional energy.
The government is committed to ensure supply of electric produced through natural sources to every city, town and village, and the NCES Advisory Committee plays an important role in this regard.

New Delhi : Probing a human trafficking scam involving suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Babubhai Katara, Delhi Police Saturday sought the media's help in identifying 11 people who went abroad through the racket.
"According to documentary evidence, at least 11 people - two women, two girls and seven men - have been sent to the US, Britain and Canada from Gujarat, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh in the past three years," Deputy Commissioner of Police A.S. Cheema said here.
