By DPA Washington : One of the largest-ever opinion polls conducted in the Islamic world found that seven percent of Muslims condoned the Sep 11, 2001, attacks on the US, but none of them gave religious justification for their beliefs, according to the figures released Tuesday. Jeddah – (IINA) February 06 – The company engaged to conduct studies for the construction of the Western Region railroad linking the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah via Jeddah and Rabigh has finalized the fares and duration of the trips. Accordingly, the price of a ticket from Jeddah to Makkah is SR10 and the rail ride will take 30 minutes. The fare from Makkah to Madinah, a three-hour 50-minute ride, is SR60. Iraq starts construction of security wall around Baghdad

By IANS/RIA Novosti, Baghdad : Iraqi authorities have started the construction of a security wall around the capital Baghdad, reports the country's Al-Iraqiya TV citing a Baghdad security spokesperson. The concrete wall with eight checkpoints is to be completed in mid-2011. It will be equipped with modern surveillance systems to "block terrorists and prevent them from getting into Baghdad", Major General Qassim Atta was quoted as saying. As soon as the construction is complete, the city's authorities plan to remove checkpoints inside the city.
