New Delhi : Forty-year-old Inder Pal's lost expression quite fit in with the smiling faces of terracotta sculptures he has created.
"Life is just not what it used to be. Earlier people used to buy terracotta sculptures in bulk. But now they just don't want to," he says at the Dilli Haat crafts village in the capital.
"They come to the shop looking impressed but once they hear the price they say, 'What's the point in spending so much on something that is breakable?'" Pal told IANS.

Islamabad : Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf was unofficially declared successful in the presidential elections on Saturday, the state-run PTV channel reported.
The results of the poll from the National Assembly, Senate and four provincial assemblies showed that Musharraf achieved a crushing victory in the presidential elections.

Islamabad : Amid an opposition boycott and protests on the streets, Pakistani lawmakers backing the government Saturday voted to pick President Pervez Musharraf for another five years in an election closely monitored by the international community.
Musharraf, who seized power in a bloodless coup in 1999, is easily expected to win the controversial election whose result has been barred by the Supreme Court that is hearing petitions challenging his candidacy when he is the army chief.

Islamabad : The opposition People's Party of Pakistan (PPP) has opted to abstain from the presidential elections on Saturday, a local TV channel DAWN NEWS reported.
The members of National Assembly belong to PPP walked out of the National Assembly Hall when a session was summoned, the DAWN NEWS report said, adding that the session had been adjourned.
