By IANS Kolkata : Paramilitary forces and police Thursday recovered a huge quantity of ammunition and Maoist literature in West Bengal's Nandigram area, and authorities said it confirmed the rebels' role in violence in the region. The police also found detonators and crude explosives. "The police have recovered about 410 rounds of ammunition from Sonachura area. The CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) also seized 75 detonators and 25 kg of explosive materials form another place," West Bengal Inspector General of Police Raj Kanojia told IANS.

New Delhi: Three property dealers were arrested in New Delhi on 8th March when they were trying to sell two sets of the Holy Quran whose value is estimated to be over Rs 100 crore.

The rare books, written in Arabic, are inscribed in gold and date to the Mughal period. Though the exact source of the books is yet to be ascertained, the police said they were stolen from either Haryana or Rajasthan. The accused were trying to sell the copies of the holy book for Rs 3.5 crore.

Patna : The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has demanded death sentence to people involved in the manufacture and sale of counterfeit medicines and setting up of a special cell for detection of spurious drugs.
