By TCN News, Kochi: The Kerala High Court has asked for detail about Dalits in the state and their condition of living, acting on a complaint filed by the Harrison Company that Dalits are forcing marches towards the private lands of the company. V. Anil Kumar, Under Secretary for Dalits, has filed an affidavit showing that about 14,200 tribal Dalits of the state are inhabited, and made it clear that the government is moving forward to allot lands to these people.

A probe has also been initiated against Jasapur Primary School principal Maan Singh and district education officials, including senior official Anil Rawat, as they knew that several upper-caste students of the school were not eating the meal prepared by the Dalit women.

Driving past the fields, a mosque, and a traffic jam of trucks carrying bricks, and reach the home of the residents of Jaitanpur, a series of small shacks with haystacks for walls. Just 60 km away from the state capital, government services have yet to reach this part of the state.
