Ali, TwoCircles.net New Delhi: The National Commission for Minorities Educational Institutions (NCMEI) has done away with the criterion of fixation of percentage of minority students in a Minority Educational Institution (MEI), as the determining factor of its minority status. The Commission said that fixing a percentage of student’s admission belonging to a notified community will negate the autonomy, which the Constitution provides to the minorities in running their educational institutions.

CPI-M leader Prabhakar Sanzgiri dead

By IANS, Mumbai : Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader Prabhakar Sanzgiri, also a trade unionist, has died after ailing for two years, a party colleague said Tuesday. He was 88. Sanzgiri died late Monday at his Bhandup residence here after undergoing dialysis, Sugandhi Francis, a Mumbai district CPI-M committee member, told IANS. Sanzgiri is survived by his wife Suman, also a Maharashtra CPI-M leader, three sons and a daughter, Francis said. Sanzgiri entered student politics six decades ago and later worked among trade unions in the state.

मीना कोटवाल, Twocircles.net राजधानी दिल्ली के द्वारका में एक पत्रकार की गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी गई. पत्रकार , दलबीर वाल्मीकि एक लोकल न्यूज़ के लिए काम करते थे. इसके साथ ही वे सीवर और नाले साफ करने का काम भी करते थे. ये घटना 17 फरवरी की है, जब देर रात को अचानक दलबीर को एक कॉल आता है. रात लगभग 12 बजे दलबीर को पास के मेट्रो स्टेशन बुलाया जाता है. लेकिन वहां से वापस घर कभी नहीं आ पाए क्योंकि वहीं उनकी गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी जाती है. दलबीर के भाई रिंकू हरिद्वार दलबीर की अस्थि विसर्जन प्रथा के लिए गए हुए हैं. उनसे फोन पर ही बात होती है, जो बताते हैं कि मेरा भाई बहुत सीधा था और बहुत मेहनती भी. उसकी किसी से कोई दुश्मनी नहीं थी. उसके साथ ऐसा कौन कर सकता है हम नहीं जानते. दलबीर दिल्ली के द्वारका के झुग्गी- झोपड़ी कॉलोनी में अपनी पत्नी और तीन बच्चों के साथ किराए के एक मकान में रहते थे....

Uma Khurana withdraws defamation case against channel

In an application before a court here, Khurana said she had settled the issue of the sting operation with the Live India TV channel and its CEO Sudhir Chaudhary and did not want to pursue the case.
